KT-Interior’s design of Paradiso at Monte Casino, Johannesburg is inspired by childhood nostalgia, creating a setting that brings back memories of the past. Every detail is carefully crafted to take guests back to simpler times, evoking the joy of classic carousel rides and circus shows. The overall design captures the feel of a vintage theatre.
"We focused on flexibility, making sure each area can easily adapt to the atmosphere and function," says creative director Kobus Truter. "Our team at KT-Interior added unique elements to make the experience special. The entrance canopy makes a bold statement, and the carousel bar at the centre of the space stands out with bespoke fabric and lighting. Custom furniture, lighting, and sculptural pieces continue this theme throughout. A triangle fireplace on a curved wall and a tented room add to the quirky design."
Upstairs, a playful sculptural wall leads to the illuminated pink bar. The forest-themed bathroom surrounds visitors with nature, featuring custom stained glass bugs, monkey-shaped basins, and matching ambient sounds.
