Palm Bungalow is a peaceful coastal retreat designed for laid-back luxury by the sea. The clients wanted to modernise their home and improve its flow, so we completely reworked the original structure. We collaborated with an architect to redesign the layout, transforming a compact, outdated three-bedroom house into a spacious double-storey bungalow with three generous en-suite bedrooms.
We reimagined the home to take advantage of its beautiful surroundings. Key living areas were moved to maximise the sea views and natural light. An upstairs lounge offers stunning ocean views, while the lowered terrace allows the ground-floor living area to extend toward the beach. We made structural changes and added waterproofing solutions to ensure the home is strong, comfortable, and ready for future coastal living.
The renovation included not only the layout but also a comprehensive exterior update and incorporation of sustainable features. We installed underground water management systems to protect the home over time. Solar power, improved insulation, and high-performance windows enhance energy efficiency and comfort. We also reinstated timber shiplap, linking the home to its bungalow roots while giving it a modern touch.
We chose warm whites, natural oak, linen, and stone to highlight the surrounding landscape and keep the sea in focus. Subtle textures, custom woodwork, and bespoke furnishings add character, along with built-in cabinets, floating vanities, and tailored joinery that show fine craftsmanship.
We carefully considered every detail and used salt-resistant materials for durability. Large sliding doors connect indoor and outdoor spaces, linking living areas to decks, gardens, and offering stunning ocean views.
